The Garage 271 Lightning Klunker Is Dedicated To The Early 70′s Repack Riders from Marin.
The Garage 271 Lightning Klunker is built by Frank and Oliver from Garage 271. A pair of talented guys out of Germany that produce some cool bikes. The Klunker is a 26″ BMX style bike, built with a 4130 chromoly frame and fork. With retro graphics, brown wall tires, and a chrome finish this bike is a blast from the past and we want one. Inspiration from this build came from the “repack” riders from the early 70′s in Marin that took old bmx bikes and raced them down fireroads of local Mount Tamalpas. They were called “Repack Riders” because after every run down the crazy aggressive terrain the coaster brakes needed to be repacked with grease. Relive your youth with a Lightning Klunker from Garage 271
